spent time with abandoned dogs

Thousands of cute little puppies are brought here and kept until they grow “too big” and are sadly abandoned on the sides of highways and at compounds. UAQ is a registered, non profit, organisation on a mission to help abused, abandoned, neglected and forgotten stray animals in Umm Al Quwain . Active lobbying of the Umm Al Quwain Government began in February 2014 with a now successful collaboration with ongoing Police support in the rescue of animals. The negotiations resulted in the Government granting land to build our Center for Stray Dogs, situated in Al Surrah, Umm Al Quwain. Through Social Media the Center gained huge momentum over the past year. With no funding, public support plays a pivotal role in the success of SOS. The support has been absolutely amazing and has enabled the Center to operate and save many lives.

We spent around 5 hours with these loveable and friendly dogs, taking them out on long desert walks batch by batch, ensuring that each of the roughly 140 dogs were walked that day and then cooling them down with water back in their “rooms”.
