The only home away from home is somewhere where we are giving back. The key element here is comfort.

Putting a smile on the children’s faces is without doubt, always the most rewarding feeling for me. My visit to the Sheikh Khalifa Medical City brought joy not only to me or the children but to the parents, nurses and doctors as well. It made me realise that volunteering goes beyond one or two people; it’s a ripple effect of happiness.

Visiting the children of Sheikh Khalifa Medical City with the Star Wars Stormtroopers today was a wonderful opportunity to play my part in giving back to our community. Each and every one of us has a responsibility to support and nurture future generations. Sheikha Shamma’s initiative provides a unique environment for children to read and learn as they heal and I am proud to support this worthy charity through twofour54’s “#United4UAE” initiative, which pledges to devote 2,454 volunteer hours to community organisations and charities including “Wanna Read”.

Through these initiatives, especially ones where children are involved, we learn that there is charm in humanity.. For me, volunteering had a meaningful, positive impact on the community. To be able to bring happiness and witness it as it happens felt rewarding and fulfilling.

This experience meant a great deal to me because it gave me an opportunity to provide hope, balance and joy to the children in hospitals, and it was an honour to participate in a good cause simply because, it is a good cause.
